  • What's an LPC-Associate?
An LPC-A (Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate) is an individual who has completed their master's degree in counseling, in which they had to complete on average 700 hours of counseling experience as a requirement for graduation. After graduation, they need to pass their national licensing exam in order to obtain their LPC-Associate license from the state. From this point onward, LPC- Associates are required to complete an additional 3,000 hours of counseling work, 1,500 of which are required to be direct counseling time. The completion of the 3,000 hours are needed to become a fully licensed LPC. LPC-Associates are able to provide counseling services to clients under the supervision of their LPC supervisor. LPC Supervisors will either have a minumum of 5 years of fully licensed experience and will take a 40 hour course to be certified as a supervisor, OR they may have gone through and earned a Ph.D in counseling supervision. LPC-Associates must adhere to ethical and professional standards set forth by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors, and are required to document their hours of supervised practice and maintain regular communication with their supervisor.
  • What's your cancelation policy?
Life happens! For this reason, I do provide my clients with one freebie on late cancelations/reschedules, no shows. This means that for the first cancelation, no show, or late reschedule that occurs, you will not be charged the session fee. After this freebie is used, my policy is that you provide a 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. There is a charge for the full session fee for no-shows, cancelations and/or late reschedules that occur without a 24 hour notice.
  • What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to review your intake paperwork, discuss expectations, answer any questions you may have, and begin to gather background information that will help guide our treatment plan moving forward. Typically this discussion will continue into the second session where we continue to gain a better understanding of your goals and what brings you to therapy. The first couple of sessions will set the foundation for us to begin to dive into your goals.
  • Do you accept insurance?
At this time I do not accept insurance.
  • What can I expect during our free phone consultation?
The phone consultation is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have revolving the therapy process, availability, fees, etc. It's also a good time for me to get a better idea of your current concerns. If it feels like a good fit, we can move forward with setting up your first appointment. If it doesn't feel like the right fit, no worries! I want you to get the support you are seeking, so I would be happy to help provide some referrals that better fit your needs at this time.
